Cushing's syndrome, also known as cochlear damage, is a health condition wherein inner ear nerve endings become damaged. The inner ear is the part of the brain that houses the hearing nerve and enables humans to hear. The outer ear is the part of the body that is usually involved with balance and movement of the jaw. There are many causes of cochlear damage. Exposure to loud noises is one such cause. Other causes include traumatic brain injury, tumors within the head, and certain types of medicines.
