Intravascular ultrasound imaging system is a minimally invasive medical imaging technique with a specialized handheld catheter having a small, laser-illuminating micro-cavity probe attached on the distal end to the end of an extensible catheter (tubing). The distal end of this catheter is attached to an ultrasound machine. Intravascular ultrasound imaging system uses ultrasound energy to produce changes in blood pressure or heart rate in the affected area.
