Using a water meter not only save money on monthly bill but it also give better control over how much water to be use. Water meter at home can be helpful in detecting the smallest leaks that can turn into large issues.

A water meter is devices that measures the amount (volume) that passes through an outlet or pipe. In most cases, meters use a common unit of measurement for volume, like gallons or cubic feet. While some meters may also include a water heater or an overflow valve, generally these devices are not included in any meter, unless it is specifically required by the government of a particular area. This device reduce the water bill.

Nowadays smart meters are also available in market today that allows to control the amount of water to be use from the tap and gives better control over how much water are being used and how much a user paying for each month.

One of the main advantages of using this device is that it is easy to operate and the data input into it will give accurate readings. It is important to note that water meter are always need to replace after one year to make sure the device has been calibrated correctly. This is due to the fact that the water meter may not be able to give the accurate readings if the temperature changes or the pressure in the piping system changes.

One of the disadvantage of water meters is that it is usually more costly than other tools such as an oven, a stove or a washing machine.
