Here’s Everything You Need to Know about Shavers and their Types and Applications
A shaver is a razor with a rotating or oscillating blade. Shaver’s can be classified into electric, disposable, and cartridge. The electric shaver does not require the use of water, soap, or shaving cream. It is powered by a small DC motor, which is powered by either batteries or mains electricity. While, the mechanical shaver needs to be powered by hand, by pulling a cord to drive a flywheel. Electric shavers fall into two categories, such as foil and rotary shavers. The foil type of shavers consists of two strips of foil that are attached to the end of the blades.
The shavers come in different shapes and sizes and some have special attachments to allow them to be used for various types of facial hair styles and hair types. Many modern shavers are water-resistant. Whereas, some shavers are labeled as wet/dry which means the unit can be used in wet environments. The wet/dry shaver is a reusable, rechargeable alternative to disposable razors. However, using a plug-in shaver in a wet environment would be unsafe. Easy and convenient usage for a more precise and clean shave has triggered the demand for these devices.
Moreover, shavers can be used by both men and women. Men use them to remove their abdominal hair, underarm hair, leg hair, chest hair, etc., while, women use them to remove their underarm hair, leg hair, etc. Electric shavers are in demand due to their advanced and easy to use features. In 2018, the leading electric shaver brand sold around 5.8 million units of electric shavers in the United States. Furthermore, many electric shaver brands have launched or are planning to launch wet/dry Shaver in countries (such as Italy and Singapore) to meet the increasing demand for shavers. The wet/dry shaver gives a complete, smooth shave without wasting water.
