High demand for cosmetic products is playing crucial role in the overall development of cosmetic chemicals market

Cosmetic chemicals have their own place in the beauty industry, especially in today's fast-paced, highly competitive world. Cosmetic Chemicals are safe, effective, and economical solutions to the beauty regimen. Cosmetic Chemicals come in two basic forms - synthetic and natural. Synthetic chemicals are man-made versions of naturally occurring compounds. There is an extensive list of synthetic chemicals used in cosmetics. Some of the most common are PEGS (para-ethylene glycol), Methylene Chloride, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, and Propyl Gallate.

The majority of over-the-counter cosmetics are primarily made from paraben, sodium lauryl sulfate, and some form of fragrance. Many cosmetic chemicals marketed to dry, sensitive skin include petrolatum, mineral oil, and paraffin wax. In addition to being readily absorbed into the skin, many chemicals in over-the-counter shampoos and hair styling gels clog follicles and irritated pores. They also leave behind a residue on the surface of your body, where it becomes easy to become re-contaminated by ingesting bacteria or becoming infected with yeast.

Moreover, the European Union has banned the use of many toxic chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products. However, The FDA, in its effort to protect consumers from the dangers of cosmetics chemicals, has not banned or restricted the use of certain ingredients. For example, zinc oxide is a commonly used sunscreen ingredient and is recognized by the Food and Drug Administration as being effective for reducing the sun's harmful UV rays. Yet, zinc oxide is a colorless, odorless chemical that was banned from many of the popular makeup products because it was thought to mimic the natural appearance of the more expensive mineral zinc. Zinc oxide was an important ingredient in sunscreen products for several years but was finally added to cosmetics product lines only after a string of lawsuits filed by injured users of the product were unable to prove that the ingredient caused any adverse health reactions.
