Increasing demand for antioxidants based supplements due to growing prevalence of various disease is upspring the growth of antioxidants market

Antioxidants are substances in nature that remove or neutralize a variety of radicals (groups of electrons) that are damaging to the body in various ways. Some examples of common antioxidants are flavonoids (flavonoids can be found in several fruits, including blueberries and grapes) and vitamin E. Antioxidants also prevent free radical damage and thus reduce the risk of disease and aging. Examples of common natural antioxidants include vitamin C, vitamin E, and selenium.

A growing instance of antioxidants deficiency problems is primarily driving the growth of the antioxidants market. Increasing demand for the product from the cosmetic industry as it is extensively used in the production of anti-aging creams, hair care products, and skin products. Also, the growing demand for the product from the food &beverage industry to extend the shelf-life of food products is again propelling market growth. Thus rise in demand for frozen and processed food products is supporting the growth of the antioxidants market. Moreover, it is also used in the meat product to conserve the shelf-life of the meat, hence increasing consumption of meat will favor the growth of the antioxidants market in the near future.

The Asia Pacific is expected to gain significant growth over the forecast period and this is attributed to the growing demand for processed food products coupled with the improving standard of living of consumers. According to the India Brand Equity Foundation, the Indian food processing industry accounts for 32 percent of the country’s total food market, one of the largest industries in India and is ranked fifth in terms of production, consumption, export, and expected growth. It contributes around 8.80 and 8.39 percent of Gross Value Added (GVA) in Manufacturing and Agriculture respectively, 13 percent of India’s exports and six percent of total industrial investment.
