Shockwave Therapy Devices Help in Pain and Stress Relieving That Is Generated Due To Various Lifestyle Choices and Sports Activities
Shockwave therapy devices are widely used in the healthcare sectors all over the world especially in regions such as the U.S., U.K., and Italy among others. Shockwave therapy is a noninvasive medical treatment that involves generating a series of low-frequency sound waves that are directly transmitted to an injured part of the body via a transducer's gel medium. These waves have the efficiency to repair and restore damaged tissues by promoting growth and repairing the affected muscle fibers. It can also stimulate the development of new tissues within the body. It has become very popular with chiropractors and physiotherapists due to its pain-relieving properties.
The two types of shockwave therapy devices are the fixed shockwave therapy devices and the portable (mounted) shockwave therapy devices; which are generally considered to be better than the fixed devices when it comes to effectiveness and ease of use. The fixed shockwave therapy device has a headset attached to the unit that sends electrical impulses, which are passed through the body of the patient. The uses and benefits of shockwave therapy devices are wide-spread and far-reaching. The devices are used by the medical industry and individuals in various situations to help with pain and stress reduction. They have also been used to help people with circulatory problems, such as high blood pressure and low blood pressure because they utilize ultrasound and extracorporeal shock waves for stimulation purposes.
In the U.S. the shockwave therapy devices are mostly used by physiotherapists and chiropractors. Joint pain and muscle fatigue are very common in developed nations such as the U.S. owing to strenuous lifestyle, obesity, eating disorders, lifestyle choices, and rapid growth of sports activities, hence chiropractors and physiotherapists are also present in abundance to provide fast treatment. For instance according to the American Chiropractic Association, in 2018 there were almost 70,000 certified chiropractors and 249,079 certified physiotherapists in the U.S.
There are three different levels of stimulation with shockwave therapy; Intense, Continuous, and Deeper. Intense stimulation increases the pressure on the point of pain at a faster rate, while Continuous and Deep stimulate a slower rate of pressure increase. The deep stimulation level is used to treat deep tissue injuries. The continuous stimulation level is used to improve muscle tone and strengthen muscles, especially after a period of inactivity or a period of rest.
