Spacesuit; a Garment Worn To Keep a Human Alive In the Outer Space

 

The spacesuit is a full-body garment worn to keep a human alive in the harsh environment of outer space. Spacesuits are widely used by space agencies across the world, such as the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), for the astronaut survival in the outer space. They are used for many types of activities in outer space including carrying out experiments, carrying out operations, or protecting oneself from the elements. Spacesuits are also designed to wear by astronauts in space stations.

 Spacesuits are commonly worn by astronauts during space missions as a safety precaution against losing cabin pressure and have been used for extravehicular activities, work performed outside of space vehicles, and even inside of the aircraft. Over the years, however, the design of spacesuits has changed with advances in materials and technologies. Today, it is made of high-tech materials that are light weight and have various protective properties.

Spacesuits are made from many different materials including vinyl, neoprene, polyurethane foam, and carbon fiber. They can be constructed from lightweight fabrics such as spandex to provide added comfort, or more durable materials such as Kevlar and neoprene. Although they are built to be lightweight and durable, some materials can be quite heavy. A Spacesuit can also be custom-designed and constructed to include features such as solar panels, vents, and even electrical wiring.

The spacesuit protects an astronaut from various harmful elements in space and helps to reduce the risk of hypoxemia as well as other medical conditions. An inner layer of moisture absorbs heat and cold from the skin, preventing the tissues from damage. It also serves as an insulation device, slowing the rate at which heat and cold enters and leaves the body. An inner layer of gas helps to control the temperature within the spacesuit, and also works as a cooling garment. Spacesuits are worn to work in Earth orbit, on the surface of the Moon, en-route back to Earth from the Moon, on the surface of the Mars, and en-route back to Earth from the Mars.
