Specialty and high-performance film provide strong protective barrier against ultraviolet rays – serving many industrial applications

The film processing technology is continually advancing to address the rapidly evolving consumer needs for more cost-efficient, higher quality, and quicker turnaround times. Specialty and High-Performance films are the result of advancement in film producing technology.

Specialty and high-performance film is an environmentally friendly polyester textile that is able to be mechanically and chemically combined to create protective films or prints that are durable, flexible, and impact resistant. High-Performance Film is also known as UV protector or thermal film. It is made by mixing together acrylics and polyester in a process called thermoforming. This type of film has the ability to provide a strong protective barrier against ultraviolet rays and heat. This is very helpful in protecting electronic equipment from exposure to the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays. It is also beneficial in protecting documents and photographs from heat damage and oxidation. Some specialty films have a Matt or frosty finish which provides a soft protective coating that is easy to clean and protects against scratches.

There are many applications where high-performance film serves to protect items from extreme temperatures. In medical applications, these specialized films are used to prevent biological hazards from entering the body during surgery. During military exercises and missions, this special material can also keep out various chemicals and liquids. Chemical spills on aircraft and military bases can wreak havoc with expensive equipment and personnel if they enter the body through the skin. Other applications include protecting the eyes of astronauts during launches and landings from high impact objects.

One of the most common uses of specialty and high-performance film is as labels for products such as computer hard drives, printers, digital cameras, and camcorders. Specialized films can also be applied to medical supplies to help medical professionals identify medical products and to help prevent contamination
