Demand for Cleanroom Consumables to Increase with Increasing Investment in Expansion of Cleanrooms

Cleanroom consumables are considered to be an integral part of any industrial setting, where a large number of chemicals and biological hazards need to be kept under controlled conditions. Cleanroom supplies consist of a variety of biological and chemical substances, which have to be kept free from accidental spills and leaks. Cleanroom needs also include the provision of sanitary surfaces for the workers and the storage of equipment and supplies. Some other things included in the list of cleanroom supplies are the hygienic tools, which are very essential in any cleanroom, as well as the medical equipment, which can help save a life in case of any accidents take place.

Cleanroom Consumables Market

The demand for cleanroom consumables is expected to increase with increasing investment in expanding cleanrooms. For instance, in June 2020, Berkshire Sterile Manufacturing, a U.S-based biotechnology company, secured US$ 16.5 million in financing to add manufacturing capabilities and double the size of their cleanrooms.

As already stated cleanroom consumables include a wide range of products used for cleaning purposes, which come in a variety of types and uses. Cleanroom supplies generally include a wide variety of cleaning and sanitary products such as germicidal UV light sanitizers, deodorizers, room fresheners, antimicrobial aerosols, and disinfectants. All these products are designed to combat all kinds of environmental contamination.

The major categories under which these cleanroom consumables fall include the following:

Germicidal UV Light Sanitizers:

These sanitizers are usually used in germicidal UV light systems for use in medical settings. They kill microorganisms and thereby prevent them from reproducing. These germicidal UV devices are manufactured by using ultraviolet (UV) radiation and ozone. The germicidal UV lights sterilize and destroy microorganisms, which include bacteria, yeast, fungi, and viruses.

Cleanroom Deodorizers:

Cleanroom consumables used as room deodorizers help in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the environment as they work by eliminating foul odor and offensive smells. The cleansers that are used as deodorizers contain chlorhexidine, triclosan, and some form of synthetic detergents. The active ingredients used in the deodorizers decrease the osmotic pressure of bodily fluids such as urine, thereby reducing the growth of bacteria. However, these cleaners may be harsh on the skin and may cause allergic reactions.
