Continuous ECG Recording during Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases Boosts Demand for Holter Monitor

Heart diseases can affect your life in a number of ways. These conditions include coronary heart disease, heart attack, congestive heart failure, arrhythmia, congestive heart failure, and cardiac arrhythmia. The symptoms of heart disease can be easily mistaken with those of other medical conditions, so it is important to get a regular checkup with your physician. Patient monitoring devices are used to collect and display physiological data. Common types of cardiac monitoring systems include, Holter monitor, event recorder, mobile cardiac telemetry, and insertable cardiac monitor.

Holter Monitor

In medical science, a Holter monitor is a kind of portable unit for cardiac monitoring, a portable and easy to use device for detecting heart arrhythmia, for a minimum of 24 hours. It records the normal electrical activity of your heart over a certain period of time while you're away from the hospital. A normal or "normal" ECG can be considered one of the most reliable and fast tests used to check the health of the heart. When you have an abnormal ECG, you can immediately consult your doctor for further advice.

These devices are used for the purpose of detecting and monitoring the heart rate and its rhythm in response to a stimulus. When there is an irregularity in the rhythm or rate of heart beats or the functioning of the heart cells, the device will detect it and then send an alert to the patient through an ear piece attached to the device or via a wireless connection. The alert will then alert the family of the patient about the abnormality.

Holter monitor has been used for the benefit of patients in modern medical facilities in different hospitals, nursing homes and clinics. The device is used mostly to monitor patients who suffer from cardiac arrhythmia or heart failure or in cases when a patient is undergoing cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. This device can also be used for those who are in need of immediate assistance while operating the motor vehicle or in other situations that may be hazardous for the patient's health. In fact, these monitors can even be used by people with low mobility to help them track their health.

Holter monitor can also be used as part of emergency kit in ambulance. The device is very lightweight, which makes it easy to carry, but does not affect its ability to measure the heart beat or monitor the condition of the heart cells. Also, there are various wearable device that can operate as a Holter monitor in the market. Another important function of the device is that it can be used to send information between the hospital and the patient's home or office through an audio or visual communication system, if it is attached to a computer. For example, if a patient needs a prescription or medical advice, they can get it through this device and then go straight to the doctor's office. If the hospital wants to update the patient's records or conduct tests on them, it can do this as well.
